Manifesto

A God eternal, infinite,

A picture we cannot complete;

But all we ever need to start -

Your perfect print on human heart -

Is Jesus.

A beauty to disturb and heal,

A love to mend what we’d conceal;

A pattern that you chose to give –

We’re asking what it means to live

In Jesus.

We would hear the words you speak,

Be the messengers you seek;

We dare to tread the holy maze,

Reflect your image as we gaze

On Jesus.

We dare to leave the safe and small,

To risk the ledge where we may fall,

To swim against the easy tide

And speak the truth when truth’s denied,

As Jesus.

A different drum to strike the beat,

A less-trod path to guide our feet;

A currency to count success

That looks at ‘more’ and reckons ‘less’

Like Jesus.

We would hear the words you speak,

Be the messengers you seek;

We dare to tread the holy maze,

Reflect your image as we gaze

On Jesus.

A world of need that’s infinite,

A task that we cannot complete;

But all we ever need to start -

Your gift of love in human heart -

Is Jesus.
